Introduction 

Imagine a world where students and aspiring learners from all over the world are able to access tutoring and educational resources without making a thousand dollar plus commitment or driving across town! The Peer to Peer, better known as “P2P” program is a virtual tutoring platform made for students, by students that seeks to achieve that goal today.

P2P is a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing accessibility to affordable and diverse educational opportunities for students of all ages and backgrounds. Through our virtual student-run platform, P2P allows student tutors from all backgrounds and subjects to register with their own customized availability, specialties, hourly rates, and teacher endorsements. Parents and other students can then access this database to select tutors in various disciplines that meet their needs. P2P allows customers to search, book, and learn all on one platform!

The Opportunity

Today, a significant proportion of the global population faces difficulties when trying to access high quality, affordable, tailored educational services. In 2022, as the new school year began in many parts of the world, UNESCO data showed that 244 million children and youth between the ages of 6 and 18 worldwide were still out of school. Additionally, according to the EdTech Roundup, 35% of parents say that they want to use tutoring but cannot due to the cost. P2P is committed to dismantling these barriers and creating a space where learning opportunities exists for everyone. Rooted in our passion for education and accessibility, we are dedicated to empowering both parents and students worldwide. Even those not currently enrolled in school may take language sessions or utilize specialized services for help applying to local programs. Our student-run cost structure also ensures that there is a price for everyone. This mission is not only to address immediate educational disparities, but also empowers young entrepreneurs and seeks to establish a cycle of peer to peer learning that benefits all.  

The P2P Solution

P2P’s comprehensive approach involves creating easy to access and easy to follow networks that connect learners to teachers. By establishing and maintaining a hub of qualified and diverse tutors, teachers, and peers online, we not only provide access to educational opportunities, but we also make it easy to facilitate meetings, first interactions, and payments. We also are partnering with donors and programs to provide discounted services to qualifying students without compromising the rates of our tutors. This platform helps us reach our goals and provide equal opportunities to eager learners across the globe.

The Ask

We are seeking a $300,000 investment from Anima Mundi Development Partners to grow our project globally. This funding will be used to support website expansion, website connectivity and flow, tutor development, and outreach campaigns to lift P2P out of its trial phase and into a fully fledges service.
